Hello All! So, the Indie Kidz site has a new and somewhat more traditional layout. While I have moved the blog off the front page, I will still be updating it regularily with cool links, videos and music for your entertainment so check back often or simply hook up to us via an rss feed (check out the bottom of the page for the link).
So, I was checking out the TED website (in case you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s filled with very cool and thought provoking mini lectures on a variety of topics by expert speakers). Here is an interesting and inspiring speech from Jose Antonio Abreu, the founder of El Sistema, the youth orchestra program that has transformed thousands of kids lives in Venezuela. Check it out here. »

Alo-Ha, one and all!
I trust everybody had an awesome weekend. I spent several hours outside, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Downtown Victoria is already turning into Christmas shopping mayhem, so I felt rather fortunate that I didn’t have to do any.
We in the Indie Kidz family like to do Christmas a little differently. Most years we draw a name from a hat and stick to an agreed upon spending limit. Though in recent years, this spending limit was not so strictly adhered to and things got a bit out of hand. So we opted to change it up a bit this year.
Sister Indie suggested we make something instead. Grandma Indie pulled some matriarchal rank and ammended that with an “unless your miserably untalented - then you can spend $25 and no more”..thusly, a new tradition was forged.
I shall be this years Christmas host for the first time ever. We will play the usual games, like toss-the-red-wine-on-the-white-shag-rug and who hid the brussel sprouts again? We will crack the Christmas crackers and wear the funny paper hats until the day after boxing day. We will pass the hours doing interpretive dance and collage. The usual.
American Thanksgiving is this week, so to all my American friends known and unknown, have a happy one! It’s Monday, time to climb walls..hee hee.

Salutations!
I’ve been having one of those last couple of days. I’m not going to complain (much) since life is pretty much excellent all the time in my world, BUT…as the person who wears the web designer hat around here, I have some words (for those of you that have seen me rant, you probably know what those words are). Anyhow, some of you, depending on what browser you use, may have witnessed some layout issues with the site. The main culprit has been Internet Explorer, which is a known kafuffler of all things good in the universe, including my site. I could throw my shoe! I think I have taken care of it now but if any of you see anything wierd, please let me know.
So things are rolling along nicely here at Indie Kidz HQ! Many of you fine folks have begun your holiday shopping early and have chosen to deck out your kids or friends kids in our t-shirts, I thank you for that. Spread the Indie Kidz love to your friends, family and neighbors and the world will be a much cooler place in no time! I will be adding youth and adult sizes very, very soon, for those of you that have been asking.
So my nephew has been begging me for a monster truck t-shirt, like, every day. I’m trying to figure out how to do an earth friendly monster truck design - like a SMART car with huge treads or something like that. If y’all have any ideas pass ‘em on, cuz monster trucks are really not my bag, baby.
